Josh Sova began his role with the Stars in 2019 after spending 12 years at the collegiate level including seven as a head coach. During his time as the skipper of the Medaille Mavericks, Sova became the all-time winningest head coach while coaching near 30 all-conference selections. Of those seven years, the team was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Peak Performance winners on four occasions for holding the highest grade-point average in the conference.

Sova is a product of Division I St. Bonaventure and was a member of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship team. In 2008, he was named captain and went on to lead the team and rank second in the conference in batting average at .398 in conference contests while compiling a fielding percentage of .990.

Sova was an All-WNY and All-New York State selection while at Lockport High School in 2001 and 2002 while posting batting averages (.507) and (.440) respectively.  He also was a key member of the 2002 Empire State Games Western Region team that brought home the gold medal.

Sova has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from St. Bonaventure and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Medaille College.  He currently resides in Tonawanda, NY with his wife Jenna and their three children; Charlie, Ellie and Abbey.
